Choose and copy your destination

1. Open the final page. Visit the page you want people to reach in a browser. Copy its full address from the address bar, including https://. In an app, try Share or Copy link, then check the destination.
2. Check who can open it. Try the address in a signed-out browser. An editing screen, private document, or staff dashboard is usually a poor public destination. Use the published page, not the account settings used to manage it.
3. Fill Text or URL. Choose Text or link and paste your full address into Text or URL. Include https:// or http://. A page name or search phrase alone is not a URL.
4. Download and verify. Pick PNG or SVG and scan the downloaded file. Check both the address the reader finds and the page it opens. This catches a copied login address, a missing path, or a link to the wrong item before it reaches paper.

Example: a class project display

Suppose your class publishes a project at a school website. Link the code to the public project page and label it “Read our project.” Do not use the private editing link shared among classmates. Ask someone outside the class to try it. Print the address alongside the code as an alternative.

What the image stores

This is a static code: it stores the exact link itself rather than a short address controlled by this generator. Our code never expires. There is no scan limit or renewal. Saved codes work if this site closes. Generation and downloads happen in your browser.

A QR image cannot keep a website alive. If the page is deleted, its address changes, its domain stops working, or it becomes private, visitors may lose access. Renaming a page title does not necessarily change its URL; check the address. Editing content at the same working URL keeps the code useful. A new URL needs a new image unless the website owner keeps the old address working.

Keep private links off public signs

Anyone with a photo of the code can read the link. Do not encode a password-reset link, a one-time login link, or a document invitation you mean to keep private. The image cannot hide the address. A destination may require a login or specific permission, and scanning cannot grant either. Check sharing settings with the page owner before posting it publicly.

Other ways to make a link code

Some browsers and apps offer a built-in QR sharing option. Its image may be enough. Use this generator for SVG print artwork, PNG images, or links from different services without installing their apps.

Print once, test, then print the batch

Start at a printed width of at least 2 cm / 0.8 in. Use dark squares on a light background and leave the quiet margin clear. A long address creates a denser pattern, so enlarge it if needed. SVG scales without blurry squares; PNG size is measured in pixels. Test one finished print before printing many.

Separate scanning from website problems

If the image will not scan, check sharpness, the blank border, lighting, and the full square. If it scans but the site does not load, open the same address directly. Check spelling, internet access, login needs, and whether the page still exists. The generator does not validate links or visit the site. Test the link directly and scan the saved image to check the destination.
