Copy the menu guests should see

1. Open the published menu. Visit your restaurant's website as a guest and open its menu page. Copy the browser address bar after the page loads. Avoid the website editor, an admin dashboard, or a preview only staff can see.
2. Check a hosted PDF carefully. An existing public PDF can work too. Open its guest-facing link and copy that address. If your hosting app offers Share or Copy link, use the public viewing link rather than an editing link. Menu labels vary by host; do not assume that copying a link makes a private file public.
3. Paste your menu link. Choose Text or link and paste your complete public menu address into Text or URL. Include https:// or http://. Pasting a link does not upload a file or create a menu page.
4. Test guest access. Open the address signed out and on another device. Download the QR and test its saved image before placing it on a table sign. Use a link that does not need your staff login.

Keep one address for seasonal changes

Publish your café menu at a stable address ending in /menu. Label the code “Scan for our menu,” with the café name and written address. Updating prices at that same working URL keeps the printed code useful.

Replacing a PDF can change its file URL. After an upload, check the original address. A menu page on your own website can be easier to maintain than a changing file link.

The code stores a link, not the menu

The link itself is inside the QR. There is no redirect through our generator, no stored menu copy, and no ordering system. Our code never expires. Its saved image can still be read if this tool closes, and the address you enter stays in your browser while you make and download it.

Your menu host must keep the destination available. A deleted page, renamed path, expired hosting link, or private file can leave guests unable to see it. If the address changes, make a new code and replace the printed signs. We cannot repair the website from the image.

Guest access and other menu tools

A QR does not bypass a private account, password, or login screen. Some website and menu hosts offer their own QR download; check whether it contains a direct menu link or uses their service's redirect. Choose ours for a direct-link image, SVG artwork, or creation in a browser without installing a menu app.

Apple documents tapping detected QR links on iPhone, and Google gives restaurant menus as a Pixel scanning example. Other Android cameras vary. Viewing the online menu needs a connection. Keep a readable printed menu or another way to order available for guests who cannot scan or get online.

Print and troubleshoot table signs

Print the QR at least 2 cm / 0.8 in wide, larger for distant viewing. Use dark squares on a light background and keep the quiet margin blank. Avoid glare from a glossy cover. SVG scales cleanly; PNG pixels do not define paper size. Test a finished sign at the table before printing many.

If the pattern is unreadable, check lighting, focus, and image sharpness. If scanning works but the menu asks for access, fix its hosting permissions. If last season's file appears, check what the encoded URL serves. Test after each update.
