Find and check your public link

1. Copy your own profile link. In Telegram for Android, open your own profile from Settings. Open the profile's three-dot menu and choose Copy link to profile. You need a public username for this kind of link. Menu layout can differ on other versions.
2. Check a channel separately. Open the channel's info page and use its public link, rather than your own profile address. Public username links have the form https://t.me/yourusername. Make sure you have selected the intended channel, group, or bot.
3. Paste the complete address. Choose Text or link and paste your copied link into Text or URL. Include https://; do not paste only a display name or a login QR.
4. Test visitor access. Open the link outside your signed-in session. Check the title and any preview. Scan a downloaded image too, then check what happens on a phone belonging to someone who is not already a member.

A channel for a local club

A walking club might put its public announcement channel on a meeting flyer. Label the code “Open our Telegram announcements” and include the club name. Use a personal profile link only if you want people to contact that person. These destinations serve different needs, even though both addresses begin with the same domain.

Write the public username below the square as a useful fallback. Before a large print run, ask a new club member to try the code and explain what appeared. That catches mistakes such as linking to a similarly named group.

Telegram already offers QR codes

Telegram has built-in codes for public usernames. Its help describes a QR icon beside a person's username or on a chat's info page, with your own code available from Settings. You can share or print that code too. Use our generator when you want SVG artwork for a layout or to create a code in a browser without the app.

This guide uses a public link. It does not create a temporary desktop-login code or a private invitation. A public channel and a private channel have different access rules; a QR image does not grant membership. If you share a private invite link elsewhere, its own permissions and possible revocation still apply.

Keep the username and access current

The image contains the original link, with no redirect through this generator and no expiry we impose. Renaming or deleting the linked account can stop it reaching the intended destination. Making a public channel or group private can also stop access through its public username link. A personal profile's privacy settings can restrict what visitors see.

Check an old print after changing the username or visibility. If the required address changes, make a new code and replace the flyer. Creating a QR cannot keep a removed public link alive. Your input stays in your browser; Telegram handles anyone's later visit.

Print and solve common problems

Use at least 2 cm / 0.8 in width, dark squares on a light background, and a clear blank quiet margin. SVG works for scaling in print layouts. Test the final flyer before printing many, with the code at its real size rather than enlarged on a screen.

If the phone recognizes the link but the channel fails, check the link directly, the username, and access rules. If nothing scans, try more light, a sharper image, or a larger square. A new QR image cannot repair Telegram permissions.
