Start with the right Instagram link

1. Copy your profile. In the app, open your profile using your picture at the bottom right. Look for Share profile below your bio, then Copy link. Menu layouts can vary. If those controls are missing, open your profile in a browser and copy its address from the address bar.
2. Choose your destination. A profile link suits a lasting shop sign. For one photo or Reel, open that item and copy its own address instead. Do not paste the website from your bio unless that website is the destination you want.
3. Paste and inspect. Choose Text or link and paste your full address into Text or URL. Your username is the handle, not necessarily the name displayed above your bio. Check dots, underscores, and spelling.
4. Try a visitor's view. Open the link while signed out, then ask someone who does not already follow you to check it. Confirm the right account or post appears and note any login or follow requirement before downloading your code.

Example: an artist's market stall

An artist who posts new work each week can use a profile link on a stall card labeled “See my work on Instagram.” New pictures do not change the profile link. Use a post link for one project. Print the handle beside either code.

A permanent image needs a working account

The squares store the link itself. They do not hold your photos, upload anything to Instagram, or send people through our redirect. Our code never expires, and a downloaded file does not depend on this generator staying online. Generation and downloads happen in your browser.

A deleted account or post can still make the destination unavailable. Renaming the username can change the profile's address; changing a display name is different. Making an account private can block visitors from seeing its posts. Check existing prints after changing the account, and generate a replacement if the original address no longer leads where you intended.

Private profiles and the built-in option

A code is not permission to view private content. Visitors may need to log in and become approved followers before they can see posts. Even a public account can present a login prompt. Opening the link successfully in your own account does not prove that everyone else has access. Give people a public website alternative if that access limit matters.

Instagram has its own profile QR and profile-card sharing feature, reached through Share profile in supported app layouts. It suits everyday profile sharing. This generator is a better fit when you want a plain image, SVG for a print layout, or to make the code in a browser without installing the app. Neither option removes account privacy limits.

Print a readable card

Use at least 2 cm / 0.8 in of printed width and dark squares on a light background. Leave the quiet margin blank; do not crop it or place your handle inside it. Use SVG for resizing or PNG for an image. Test one card on the actual paper before printing many. Larger signs may need a larger code.

When a scan does not reach your content

If the image is not recognized, check for blurry printing, missing edges, shadows, or glare. If it produces a link but the page fails, paste that same link into a browser. Check whether you used the old handle, deleted the post, or changed its visibility. A login screen is an access issue, not proof that the QR image is damaged.
