Copy the Page or profile people should see

1. Open the intended destination. For a business sign, open its Facebook Page rather than your personal profile. For a club notice, choose the group or event itself. Avoid the feed or Page management tools.
2. Find the sharing controls. Use the app's link-sharing option if available. Facebook's help also gives a mobile browser route: visit m.facebook.com, use Search to open the profile, Page, group, or event, then hold the address bar and tap Copy. On a computer, open the destination and copy its address bar.
3. Paste your own link. Choose Text or link and paste the complete address into Text or URL. Keep every identifying part of the copied link. Do not guess a username from the Page's displayed name.
4. Test with less access. Open the link while signed out and ask someone outside the group or Page team to check it. Confirm the destination name and what they can see. Download and scan the saved image before using it in a sign.

Example: a community event poster

A club announcing one event can link directly to that event and label the code “Event details on Facebook.” For a permanent notice, use the club's Page or group. Print its name and address as well. Consider a public website for people without Facebook access.

No expiry timer, but access can change

The code stores the link itself. It does not copy Facebook posts, create a Page, or use a redirect hosted by us. Our code never expires and stays readable if this generator closes. Generation and downloads happen in your browser. Anyone with the image can read the link.

The destination has its own lifetime. A deleted Page, removed event, changed URL, or private destination can stop visitors reaching the content. Renaming a display title is different from changing a username or address. Test old prints after any change. If the original link no longer works, generate a new code and replace the signs; the existing squares cannot update themselves.

Login, membership, and Facebook's own option

A link cannot bypass Facebook login, join a group for someone, or reveal private posts. Group members may have access a visitor lacks. Some destinations may ask even signed-out visitors to log in. Test with someone outside your admin team.

Facebook documents a built-in QR option for group admins on a computer: open the group, choose the top-right menu, then Share and Share via QR Code. It suits group sharing, but excludes private hidden groups. This generator is useful for a Page or another copied link, SVG print artwork, or creating the image without using the Facebook app.

Make a sign people can scan

Use at least 2 cm / 0.8 in of printed width. The tool uses dark squares on a light background. Keep the quiet margin empty, even when adding a border to the poster. SVG scales; PNG pixels do not set paper size. Test one finished print before printing many. Enlarge the code when the pattern is dense or the sign is farther away.

Fix the right problem

If no link appears, check for cropped edges, poor contrast, blur, or glare. If scanning produces a link but Facebook shows unavailable content, try that link directly in a browser. Check that you copied the Page rather than an editing screen, that the item still exists, and that the visitor has the required access. A scan cannot repair those destination problems.
