How do I get a YouTube transcript?
Paste a YouTube video link or video id and press Read captions. If public captions are available, the transcript appears with timestamps.
Why is a transcript unavailable for some videos?
The video may have no captions, captions may be disabled, or the video may be unavailable or restricted. This tool reads existing captions; it does not transcribe audio.
Can I get captions in another language?
Enter a preferred language code such as en or pt-BR. The tool tries that language, then English, then another available caption track. It does not translate captions.
Can I copy the transcript or save it as text?
Yes. After the captions appear, use Copy or Save as .txt. The text includes timestamps; automatically generated captions may contain errors.
Is the YouTube transcript tool free?
Yes, without an account. There are 20 free calls per day per IP, shared with the other server-based tools and agent calls.
