Image to SVG Tracer

Open an image, choose a preset, trace it into vector paths, then download the SVG or copy its code.

Free, browser only — your image never leaves this browser.

Open your image

Drop an image here, choose a file, or paste an image with Ctrl+V / Command+V.

Images over 1600 px on the long side are downscaled before tracing. Animated GIFs use the first frame.

Tracing settings

Higher smoothing creates simpler paths. More speckle removal discards short paths. Transparency removes the border colour throughout the artwork.

Work stays in this tab. Download before closing it. SVG contains vector paths you can edit in a vector drawing app.

Frequently asked questions

Does my image leave this browser?

Your image never leaves this browser. Tracing runs on your device, with no uploads or account. The tool files load from this site.

Which images trace well?

Logos, icons and drawings with clear edges and flat colours work best. Photos become posterized art, not a perfect copy of the original.

How does a transparent background work?

We remove the palette colour touching most of the image border, including any paths of that colour inside the artwork. Use Keep if your artwork shares its background colour.

Can I trace large or animated images?

Images over 1600 pixels on their long side are downscaled before tracing. GIFs use the first still frame. SVG output scale changes vector dimensions without adding detail.
