Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded, and is it free?

No. Each file never leaves the device. This tool reads and processes files entirely in your browser, with nothing uploaded or stored by API Tool Calls. It is free, with no sign up.

Can I edit existing text in a PDF?

This PDF editor does not change existing text in place. Cover old text with white-out, then add a text box over it. White-out only covers content visually; it is not secure redaction. Original text remains selectable in the saved PDF.

How do I sign a PDF?

Choose Draw signature and draw with a mouse, pen or finger. Place the transparent signature on a page and drag or resize it. You can also add a PNG or JPG signature image. This adds a visual signature, not a certified digital signature.

Can I rearrange, delete or rotate pages?

Yes. Drag thumbnails to reorder pages, or use Move up and Move down. Rotate the selected page 90 degrees left or right. Delete any page except the last one. Undo and redo keep at least 50 edits, including text, images and page changes.

Which fonts and characters can I save?

Choose Helvetica, Times or Courier, with sizes from 8 to 72 points and your own colour. These standard fonts support Latin-1 and WinAnsi characters, including common Western European accents. Unsupported characters are listed plainly and saving is blocked until you replace or remove them.

Which browsers and phones work, and what is the limit?

Use a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, iPhone, iPad or Android phone. Open one PDF at a time, up to 200 MB (209,715,200 bytes). Large PDFs need available browser memory. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first. Existing form fields are kept; fill fields in /pdf-form-builder/.
