Trim video online, free, no upload
Cut the start and end off a video without uploading it. The kept part keeps the original picture size and frame rate. It is re-encoded in your browser, so the quality can soften slightly.
Chrome and Edge first. Trimming needs WebCodecs; codec support varies by browser and operating system. The video engine (about 0.48 MB) loads only after you choose a file.
Choose or drop an MP4 or MOV to start.

Download before closing this tab. Need to join clips, resize for Reels or TikTok, add captions or cut silence? Use the video editor. To make a video smaller, use compress video.

Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded, and is it free?
No. The video is read and trimmed entirely in your browser by your own device, with nothing uploaded or stored by API Tool Calls. It is free, with no sign up.
Does trimming lower the quality?
Slightly, because the kept part is decoded and encoded again in your browser rather than copied. The picture size and frame rate stay as they were. A different codec or bitrate can soften fine detail.
Which formats and browsers work?
MP4 and MOV files with H.264 video and AAC or Opus audio. Use current Chrome or Edge first. The output is MP4 when your browser can encode H.264 and AAC, otherwise WebM with VP9 and Opus; the page tells you which one you got. HEVC phone videos work only where your browser can decode them.
How do I cut the middle out of a video or join clips?
This page keeps one continuous part, from a start time to an end time. To remove a middle section, trim twice and join the two parts, or use the video editor, which joins clips, resizes for social shapes and can cut silent parts.
Is there a size limit?
There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded, but the kept video is held in browser memory while it is processed. Phones can run out of memory on very large or long files; a laptop handles most clips.
