MOV to MP4 Converter, Free, No Upload

Choose MOV videos, keep Quick for no quality loss or select Play everywhere for H.264, then select Convert to MP4 and save each file or a ZIP.

Quick copies the encoded video and AAC audio into a new MP4 without decoding or changing quality. It usually finishes in moments and works with iPhone HEVC even when your browser cannot play the original.

Chrome and Edge first. Re-encoding needs WebCodecs; codec support varies by browser and operating system.

HEVC MP4s play on iPhone, Mac, Android and Windows with the HEVC extension; device support varies. Play everywhere re-encodes video to H.264 at the source size for broader compatibility. Compatible AAC audio is kept if the browser has no AAC encoder. If the browser cannot decode HEVC, choose Quick. Quick requires H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio; other audio needs the re-encode path.

Need to shorten a clip or add captions? Use the video editor. For sound only, use MOV to MP3.

The video engine and libraries load only when you choose a file. ZIP code loads only when you download a batch.

Limit: 2 GB per file. Large videos need more browser memory; shorter batches are easier on your device.

Choose or drop files to start.

Video uses mp4box.js (BSD-3-Clause), mp4-muxer (MIT) and webm-muxer (MIT). ZIP uses fflate (MIT).

Frequently asked questions

Are my MOV videos uploaded, and is it free?

No. Each file never leaves the device. This tool reads and processes files entirely in your browser, with nothing uploaded or stored by API Tool Calls. It is free, with no sign up.

Is quality lost when converting MOV to MP4?

Quick copies the encoded H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio without decoding, so there is no quality loss. It changes the container, not the codec, and the file size stays similar. Play everywhere re-encodes video to H.264 at the source size and can lose some quality. Compatible AAC audio is kept when the browser has no AAC encoder.

Can I convert iPhone HEVC videos if my browser cannot play them?

Yes. Quick copies HEVC samples without a VideoDecoder, so the browser does not need to decode the video. HEVC MP4s play on iPhone, Mac, Android and Windows with the HEVC extension, depending on device support. For wider compatibility, choose Play everywhere when your browser can decode HEVC. If it cannot, return to Quick.

What if Quick cannot copy my audio into MP4?

Quick supports AAC audio and preserves it along with the video. If the MOV contains an audio codec this copy path cannot put into MP4, the page says which codec it found. Choose Play everywhere to re-encode the sound to AAC and the video to H.264 if your browser supports them.

Can I convert many MOV files at once?

Yes. Choose or drop several files, up to 2 GB per file. Each completed video gets its own Save link. Download all (.zip) collects two or more results. Cancel stops the current file and remaining work while keeping completed results.

Which browsers can convert MOV to MP4?

Chrome and Edge first. Quick works without WebCodecs because it only copies encoded samples. Play everywhere requires WebCodecs, an H.264 and AAC encoder, and a decoder for your source video. Codec support varies by browser and operating system.
