Frequently asked questions
Does anything leave my device?
No. Your media never leaves the device. The camera, microphone and screen are used only in your browser; nothing is uploaded or recorded to our server. Access starts only when you press a button.
What if permission is denied or a device is busy?
Allow access in your browser’s site settings and try again. If no device is found, connect one. If it is in use by another app, close that app. These tools require a secure browser connection.
What does the level mean?
The bar and number show RMS signal amplitude from 0 to 100%. “We hear you” appears once the level exceeds 2%. This checks for sound, not speech recognition. A silent microphone stays near zero.
How do I hear a test sample or switch inputs?
Record 5 s sample captures five seconds, stops the microphone and shows a player. If you stop early, samples of at least one second are kept; shorter samples are discarded. Press Play to hear it. After stopping, select an input and press Start test to check that device.
