HAR to OpenAPI Converter
Make an OpenAPI 3.1 spec from a HAR file you own or have the right to inspect. Free, with no sign up. Your file stays in this browser; nothing is uploaded.
Or drop it here.
No API calls are left. Tick Include pages and static files, or pick another host.

How to save a HAR file
- In Chrome, Edge or Firefox, press F12 and open the Network tab.
- Reload the page and use the site the way you want described.
- Save the list as a HAR file: the download arrow in Chrome and Edge, or right-click and Save All As HAR in Firefox.
To read each request or share a cleaned copy, open the file in the HAR viewer and sanitizer. Open only a HAR file you own or have the right to inspect.
How to use this tool
Drop a HAR file you own or have the right to inspect, or try the sample. Click a branch of the endpoint tree to read its part of the spec, then copy or save the whole spec as YAML or JSON.
Frequently asked questions
Is my HAR file uploaded?
No. The file is read, cleaned and turned into a spec inside your browser. This page makes no network call with it.
What is removed before the spec is made?
The same things the HAR viewer's cleaner removes: Cookie, Set-Cookie, Authorization and Proxy-Authorization headers, every cookie list, and the values of headers, query parameters, form fields and JSON keys whose names contain token, key, secret, password, session, auth, sig, jwt, csrf, xsrf, credential, bearer or otp. Example values are off unless you tick the box, and even then they come from the cleaned copy.
How does it find path parameters?
A path part that is a number, a UUID, a long hex string or a long mixed-case code becomes a parameter, named after the part before it. So /products/101 and /products/102 become one endpoint, /products/{productId}.
Is the spec complete?
No. It describes only the calls in the file. A field is marked required when every sample had it, and a type comes from the values seen. Read it and fix names and types before you rely on it.
Why are pages, images and scripts missing?
They are not API calls, so page loads, static files and CORS preflight requests are left out. Tick Include pages and static files to describe them too.
How are logins shown?
If calls carried a bearer token, a login cookie or a key in a header or the query string, the spec lists that sign-in method by its name. The value itself is never copied.
